Perhaps another force sent you here for reasons undefined, or you brought yourself here with your own power. However you got here, you've crossed the Odd and now UnLondon's got you--or maybe you've been here for a while and know what's going down.

[ The strange, wavering images were dizzying in their overlaps, and the lack of plant life should have been disconcerting as well-- but somehow, despite not knowing where he was or how he arrived, Uriel felt oddly at home amidst the tall, dark buildings. ]

[The ghosts always get fidgety when there's a stranger in their midst, so they call Hemi, because of course he's the only one who can speak to the fleshies.]

[He steps out suddenly from around a corner, blocking Uriel's path, hands jammed deep into the pockets of his ratty trousers. He really doesn't look all that welcoming.]

What're you doing here? No heartbeaters come to Wraithtown without a reason. If you're some bleeding deadbeat treasure hunter, you're out of luck, you know. The dead don't bring their possessions with 'em.

I was not aware they were able.

[ He looks a bit bewildered for a moment, blinking down at Hemi, but the moment passes and he returns to gazing at the buildings as he speaks, mostly to himself. ]

Then this is a realm of the dead. Perhaps it was foolish of me, to think there only one...

[ There's a pause, and then he glances back down at Hemi, then lower to the ground. ]

I apologize for intruding. I would take my leave, however, I...

[ He's lost. ]

[Hemi doesn't back down.]

Only one? Tch, maybe there's another across the odd and there's Thanatopia, innit?

If you just wandered into Wraithtown, mate, I'm surprised you've lived this long.

[ For a moment, he almost seems to smile, but the expression lacks mirth and disappears quickly. ]

I only knew of Hades. This place... is named Wraithtown, then?

[Hemi raises an eyebrow. Nutter.]

Yeah, and the residents aren't used to heartbeaters.

I understand their feelings. Then, I would ask you help me find my way out, if you may?

[Hemi eyes him suspiciously, then shrugs.]

For a price, maybe.

... I apologize, but I'm afraid I have no money, here or otherwise. I... have not had use for it for a long time.

Where'd you come from that you don't need money? Gimme directions and maybe we'll talk.

[snort. He's curious now, though--and seeing that he's not getting pestered for his heritage, he's starting to relax a bit.]

I've dwelt in Hades for most of my life yet. Until recently, I had very little contact with the living, so there was no one I need pay...

Hades--like Thanatopia?

I have never heard the term "Thanatopia" referring to it, but I imagine they are one and the same nonetheless.

[ He hesitates at the second question, and seems to consider his words carefully. ]

The methods are... limited. And far moreso for humans...

[Hesitation.]

--what about for half-ghosts?

I have never come across such a thing, so I cannot say for certain... In truth, it may only serve to make things more difficult.

... Although it cannot compare to speaking with them yourself, perhaps... I could relay a message.

[Hemi glances at Uriel suspiciously.]

Why would you help a ghost? [Half-ghost, whatever. The principle remains.]

[ And for a moment, Uriel simply stares, silent. Maybe a bit longer than a moment, really- and when he does speak, it comes out slow and puzzled. ]

he can apparently speak telepathically? his voice doesn't work much; as he is it's greatly amplified
